When is high season in Sweden 2025?

Based on the school holidays of Sweden's 21 Län — weighted by population — the calendar shows when high season for holiday rentals is in Sweden. Sportlov is staggered by region: south week 7, Skåne/eastern Sweden week 8, Stockholm week 9, Norrland week 10.

We only have officially checked data from 08. Februar 2025 onward. For the start of 2025, our source (Swedish holiday convention) doesn't have checked dates yet. The classification below therefore uses the pattern from 2028 (the last fully confirmed year) as an estimate.

How it's calculated

For each region, school holiday dates are loaded — the source is the nationally regulated Swedish holiday convention (spanning all municipalities; Sportlov staggered by Län).

For each calendar week, we count which regions are on holiday — weighted by their importance as a source market. Where most guests come from counts the most.

The classification is peak-anchored: the densest week sets the benchmark, every other week is measured against it. That keeps the calendar comparable across years.
The calendar reflects holiday demand, not your actual bookings. Regional public holidays, trade fairs, events and weather come on top. A guideline, not a guarantee.
We currently source each region from a single source only (Swedish holiday convention). We don't yet have a second, independent source to cross-check against — the dates are plausible but not (yet) cross-verified.
