Based on Romania's nearly fully national school holiday calendar (autumn, Christmas, Easter and summer breaks apply nationwide) plus the February ski break staggered by county — weighted by population — the calendar shows when Romania sees peak season for holiday rentals.

How it's calculated

For each county, school holiday dates are loaded — the source is the OpenHolidays API.

For each calendar week, we count which counties are on holiday — weighted by their importance as a source market. Where most guests come from counts the most.

The classification is peak-anchored: the densest week sets the benchmark, every other week is measured against it. That keeps the calendar comparable across years.
The calendar reflects holiday demand, not your actual bookings. Regional public holidays, trade fairs, events and weather come on top. A guideline, not a guarantee.
